Synopsis
"Cette planète que vous aimez tant... Si elle n'était pas cachée, elle n'existerait pas, au du moins pas sous cette forme..."
Lorsque l'équipe de Sheppard rencontre une civilisation maitrisant la technologie liée au changement de phases, ce qui rend la population totalement invisible, il semblerait qu'Atlantis est enfin découvert le moyen de se protéger des Wraiths. Motivée pour réaliser un échange, le Dr Weir part en mission diplomatique afin de négocier avec le peuple de Lannavulin. Mais une fois sur place, il semblerait que tout le monde ne soit pas content l'immobilisme de la planète.

When Sheppard's team encounter a culture with phase shift technology that keeps their entire population invisible - and immaterial - to the outside world, it looks like Atlantis might have found the perfect protection from the Wraith. Eager to make a trade for the technology, Doctor Weir embarks on a diplomatic mission to negotiate with the people of Lannavulin. But once there, it becomes apparent that not everyone is happy with the planet's status quo...

I've always love the character of Elizabeth Weir, so it was great privilege to write for her in this format. The beauty of the two-voice scenario is that it really gives a writer (a hopefully, the audience) a chance to get inside the character's head in a way that can't be shown on television. I've often wondered what Weir would do in a situation like this - it's rare that she finds herself outside the city environment, so it was fun to work out how she would react to scenes of wealth and contrasting poverty, not to mention extreme stress.
Working with Torri was wonderful - her enthusiasm, innate sense of timing and her empathy for Weir really made the script come to life. The memory of listening to her brilliant impression of a hungry Wraith still makes me smile.
I hope listeners enjoy the story - and I hope that one day we might see more of Doctor Weir.
Chronologie
L'histoire se déroule au début de la saison 4 de Stargate Atlantis, lorsque le docteur Weir est prisonnière des Asurans. Les événements dont elle se souvient ont eu lieu durant la saison 3, après l'épisode Intérêts Communs et avant Nom de Code: Horizon.
